Hadley Peterson
I am a landscape designer based in Summit, New Jersey. While spending 15 years working at internet startups, I was finding that I was my most creative and happiest when planning and planting in my backyard. Often on the receiving end of calls from friends asking my opinion and advice, I decided to go to the New York Botanical Garden and get my certification in Landscape Design and make this a career.
I believe that outdoor spaces should be an extension of the house—the way the family uses it, the way it looks and the way it makes one feel. When selecting materials and plants for a project, I look at the personalities of my clients and how they want to use it. This enables me to create unique personal spaces that complement what they have created on the inside.
